Pilot Shortage Coming?

Is there a Pilot Shortage coming after all of the years of shortage hype?

It is reasonable to believe, there will be a shortage of qualified pilots, given the reduction in the numbers of pilots,

from 827,000 pilots, in 1980, to only 600,000 pilots, in 2010.
