Airline Pilots’ Flight-Test Database Proposed in Bill

July 29 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. regulators would have to create a database of pilot proficiency tests that airlines could use in hiring decisions under legislation being introduced today in response to a February crash that killed 50 people.
The measure would also require the Federal Aviation Administration to examine fatigue and update rules on duty time. The minimum number flight hours required for commercial pilots and copilots would rise to 1,500 from 250 hours under the measure, sponsored by............
